At Tidewater Staffing, being part of the ship repair industry means more than simply doing business in it. We believe in being an active part of the community that supports it.
That is one reason we are proud to support the Virginia Ship Repair Foundation’s 40th Annual Golf Tournament. The event will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Cypress Point Country Club in Virginia Beach. The all-day event begins at 10 a.m. It brings together shipyards, contractors, suppliers, staffing companies, and other partners from across Hampton Roads.
Tidewater Staffing is participating as the Starter Bar Sponsor, and our own Jay Prock serves on the VSRF Board of Directors.
How the VSRF Golf Tournament Supports Hampton Roads’ Ship Repair Workforce
For us, the value of the VSRF Golf Tournament goes well beyond a day on the golf course.
Ship repair is a relationship-driven industry. The companies working throughout Hampton Roads depend on one another every day to meet demanding schedules, develop skilled workers, and support the Navy and commercial maritime communities.
Events like this give us an opportunity to strengthen those relationships outside the normal pressures of the workday.
They also support something that is central to Tidewater Staffing’s mission: workforce development.
Through Jay’s service on the VSRF Board, Tidewater gets to help direct proceeds from events like the golf tournament. Those proceeds support workforce development and other initiatives advancing the goals of the Virginia Ship Repair Association.
That matters to us because we see the workforce challenge every day. We recruit, train, and place the men and women who help keep Hampton Roads’ shipyards and industrial facilities moving. Strengthening that workforce takes participation from the entire industry.
We don’t want Tidewater Staffing to simply be a company that supplies labor to ship repair.
We want to be part of the ship repair community.
Supporting the Virginia Ship Repair Foundation is one more way we can invest in the people, relationships, and future of an industry that means so much to Hampton Roads.
