Pay Range: $22 to $36 per hour

Description

Tidewater Staffing is seeking experienced Inside Machinists to support shipbuilding, ship repair, manufacturing, and industrial projects throughout Hampton Roads. Candidates with experience in shipyards, machine shops, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, mechanical repair, or heavy equipment environments are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will perform precision machining, equipment repair, fabrication, and mechanical maintenance while following client, OSHA, and company safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform machining, repair, fabrication, and maintenance on marine and industrial mechanical equipment.
• Operate manual machine shop equipment safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments to inspect and verify machined components.
• Repair, fit, assemble, and maintain mechanical equipment and components.
• Assist with ship repair, manufacturing, maintenance, and production projects.
• Maintain quality workmanship while following OSHA, company, and client safety procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two or more years of machining, mechanical repair, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or marine experience preferred.
• Experience operating manual machine shop equipment preferred.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools and read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work overtime and production schedules as needed.
• Ability to lift, bend, climb, and work in shipyard or industrial environments.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

Work Environment

Assignments may include new construction, repair, overhaul, and modernization projects within shipyards, manufacturing facilities, and industrial environments throughout Hampton Roads.
