Job Title: Spray Painter Helper
Reports To: Paint Supervisor
Assist the Sprayers by pulling their lines to assure the spray line don’t get tangled up while they are spraying. Assist with Operating and cleaning spray paint equipment. Assist with Assembling and disassembling spray paint equipment and area after each spray job and following all safety procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receives instruction from supervisor regarding paint requirements.
Assist with Assembling sprayer and power equipment.
Assist with Operates lifting and moving devices to move equipment or materials to access areas to be painted.
Assist with Cleaning and preparing surface for painting.
Disassembles sprayer and power equipment, such as spray pump and cleans equipment and hand tools, using solvents, wire brushes and cloths.
Transfer items to and from work area.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Individual must be 18 years of age.
Individuals need no experience in the Marine Spray Painting field nut must be will to learn.
Must be able to follow directions and understand safety requirements.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Must be able to carry a load of about 50 lbs. Climb stairways, vertical and inclined ladders. Crawl in tanks and voids. Kneeling, standing, sitting, crouching and stooping.
Shipyard environment involving working in cramped quarters, high places, hazardous conditions, loud noises, wearing specialized protective equipment, indoors or outdoors.
