Brush & Roll Painter/ Powertooler

Painters and Powertoolers use different tools and machines, such as blowtorches; reading levels; mixing paint; and power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment. Painters and Powertoolers set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures. They help other trades as well.

• Must have knowledge of shipyard practices for surface preparation, masking appropriate areas and general painting prep of assemblies.

• Properly mixed multi-part primer and paint kits, recording Lot, Mix Date/Time and Shelf Life on containers.

• Extensive experience in primes and paints – simple to medium complexity items to requirements of specifications and instructions.

• Must be able to operate general power tools such as Grinders, Needle Guns, Drills, etc.

Experience in Brush & Roll painting and operating power tools in a Marine environment.

• 2 plus years of experience in painting preferred.

• Experience with ships or working in a shipyard preferred.

• Must have own transportation.

• Must be US Citizen.

• Must pass drug and background screening and be eligible to obtain a Rapid Gate badge

• Able to walk, stand, climb stairs, and ladders, sit reach, bend, kneel, and lift 50 pounds.

• Able to enter confined/enclosed or tight spaces.

• Capable of working in extreme temperatures both hot and cold. Work in noise areas where the noise levels may exceed 110 db. Able to wear personal protective clothing to include hard hat and safety shoes.
