Reports To: Project Manager
SUMMARY
Assist with Disassembling, assembling equipment to make repairs or routine maintenance by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist with Routinely observing and listening to operating equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and determine need for adjustment or repairs.
Assist with Studying blueprints, sketches, machine parts list or specifications to determine type of parts required.
Assist with Measuring, marks and scribes reference points prior to disassembly of parts.
Assist with Dismantling machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part.
Assist with Replacing defective part with new part or repairs if possible.
Assist with Assembling and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction.
Assist with Welding brackets and other materials when needed.
Assist with Maintaining and lubricating machine tools and equipment in accordance with planned maintenance schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma and willing to learn equipment maintenance in the field.
LANGAUGE SKILLS
Must have a good understanding of the English language both orally and written.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must have general mathematical skills
SAFETY
Must be able to read and comprehend complicated drawings and manufactures instruction manuals. Must be familiar with all safety procedures and lockout/tagout procedures.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTARATION
Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain qualification for vehicle insurance coverage.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Must be able to lift about 50 lbs. Climb stairways, vertical and inclined ladders. Crawl in tanks and voids. Kneeling, standing, sitting, crouching and stooping. Must be able to work with hands for a long period of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Shipyard environment involving cramped quarters, high places, hazardous conditions and loud noises, wearing specialized protective equipment indoors or outdoors.
