- $16 per hour up to $26 per hour depending on experience
Boat Shop Technician’s Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
• Possess in-depth knowledge of boats and an operational knowledge of propulsion and electrical systems
• Perform maintenance duties involved with the repair of small boats
• Troubleshoot and repair the vessel per the specifications within the work package
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Meet deadlines and maintain quality work throughout projects
• Work multiple ongoing projects on and off-site
• Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Continuously learn and apply lessons learned to other projects
• Perform various maintenance duties involved with the repair of small boats
• Research parts to comply with commercial and government equipment specifications
• Work independently and in a team environment
• Familiar with multiple different driveline configurations and components (inboard/outboard, sterndrives, jet drives, and full outboard)
• Read drawings and effectively work to NAVSEA standards
• Possess knowledge of different 12v and 24v electrical systems (engine monitoring systems, navigation, radar, and communication systems, etc.)
Qualifications:
• High school degree or equivalent
• Must pass a pre-employment screen
• Reliable transportation to and from work
