Tidewater Staffing is seeking Packing Material Handlers!

Pay Rate:

Job duties include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for putting away materials properly at the end of the production run.  All pallets MUST be rewrapped before they are put away and MUST be marked properly with date, size, & type/label name where applicable.
  • Responsible for knowing all of the storage locations of all materials needed for production of any product. If they do not know; they are responsible for asking the lead or other member of management in a timely manner so as not to disrupt production
  • Must  actively look for partial pallets on all materials and combining like materials into one pallet and dating the pallet with the date of the oldest material on that pallet
  • Putting away new finished product from production floor to warehouse following proper procedures and keeping proper records to be turned in to warehouse personnel
  • Moving partials from gravity racks to stability racks to create warehouse space for full LOTS
  • Moving oldest lids/caps from back of rows to front in order to rotate stock
  • When placing pallets back in racks a material handler will NEVER leave a pallets double stacked on top of a plastic pallet (creates a slip hazard & a corrective  action will occur)
  • Responsible for using a weighted pallet to get material out of gravity racks when necessary following FIFO.
  • Take out dumpsters of skins/peanut waste from all areas of plant regularly to maintain sanitary facility
  • Move any re-work material to scrappers and supply them with other materials such as Drums, liners, and pallets as needed
  • If there is ever a need to violate responsibilities; the Material Handler must get permission from the lead or a higher member of management to do so (i.e. Inclement weather, broken machinery or special circumstances
  • Storing all product in its proper locations
  • Performing physical inventory functions
  • Always sanitize their forklift anytime it reenters the building from having been outside
  • Continuous standing in one location for long periods (2-3 hours before break)
  • Lifting: Intermediate lifting up to 55 lbs for up to half your shift (up to 4 hours)
  • Climbing :ladders, stairs, etc. –using feet and legs or hands and arms 1/3 of the time
  • Stooping:  Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
  • Crouching:  Bending the body downward and forward by bending legs and spine
  • Reaching:  Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
  • Handling:  Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands
  • Hearing:  Perceiving the nature of sounds by ears
  • Depth Perception:  Three‑dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances
  • Color Vision:  Ability to identify and distinguish colors

Requirements include:

  • GMP Training (New hire and Annual)
  • SOP’s for Receiving Program, Shipping Program, and Storage Program (Packaging Supplies, , Inventory Control, Stock Rotation, Raw Materials and Finished Product)
  • SSOP for warehouse facility and forklifts
  • Able to earn & maintain a valid forklift license from Hampton Farms for the designated work area
  • Able to earn & maintain the right to operate the floor scrubber and be able to maintain it
  • Knowledge of the forklift Inspection Form
  • Knowledge  of Logistics/Transportation/Shipping
  • Above average computer skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Above average communication skills
